Peppermint (Mentha × piperita)

Hybrid of spearmint (Mentha spicata) and watermint (Mentha aquatica)

One of the oldest and most commonly used medicinal and culinary herbs prized for both its fragrance and taste.  Some of our favorite uses include teas, fresh leaves crushed in cold drinks, and as a medicinal for digestive issues, headaches and anxiety.

Peppermint can grow almost anywhere but prefers moist loamy soil and full sun to part shade.  Like most mints, we don't recommend planting in the ground unless you have the space to let this plant run wild (and it will).  A pot raised up off the ground works great if you want to keep it contained.
